Originally a modest one-story structure, the previous homeowners overshadowed the home with an immediately attached 3-story abrupt façade, towering over the home. In addition to the unfortunate massing, three awkward dormers protruding from the top floor from a previous remodel presented a confusing and awkward home. Changing hipped roofs to gables and adding a shed-roof dormer grounded the house and created layers that invite further investigation. A new front porch encourages interactions with neighbors, and a completely remodeled interior satisfies the needs and requirements of the new homeowners.
