Brad led a large, complex team through the rigorous LEED Green Building Certification process, while principal and owner of a former firm. The 18,000 square foot library has abundant natural daylighting, highly efficient mechanical systems, and an innovative building envelope design, helping it to surpass state mandated energy use by nearly 40%. The design reflects the cultural heritage of the area and serves as a gateway to important local landmarks, including Independence High School and Overfelt Gardens. Under Brad’s leadership in Green Building Facilitation, the project was awarded the prestigious LEED Gold rating from the US Green Building Council.
